I grew up in North Carolina with a beach week every summer and the mountains always within reach, and I think that shaped the way I see the world more than anything else. Some of my favorite memories are hiking national parks with my dad — it's how we've always spent time together, and that love of being outside and in the sun is a big part of why nature-inspired photography feels so natural to me.
I'm also someone who really values relationships, AKA the kind that feel easy and real, like you've known each other for ages. That's exactly how I want my clients to feel from the very first conversation! When I'm not shooting, you can usually find me at a coffee shop with friends, reading, swinging in my hammock, or somewhere loud cheering on a hockey game, a football team, or honestly a NASCAR race (yes, really!)
From inquiry to final gallery, I want the whole experience to feel easy, personal, and genuinely fun! I'll help with locations, talk through your timeline, and show up ready to handle whatever comes up so you don't have to.
Need your dress steamed? Done. Want a hype woman in your corner when the nerves kick in? That's me, every time. I'm not the photographer who gets the shots and disappears - more often than not, we end up staying in touch long after the gallery is delivered.
My whole approach is built around creating enough ease that you forget to be self-conscious, and enough intention that nothing real gets missed. I guide my clients, but not toward a shot - toward a feeling.
For years I worked a corporate job in the architecture & interior world that looked fine from the outside, but photography was always the thing I kept coming back to. I've loved capturing moments since I was a kid with a point-and-shoot, just happy to document whatever was in front of me.
The first couple who hired me in 2014 took a chance on someone with *no* wedding portfolio and a lot of heart, and I've carried that with me into every single session since. That trust meant everything to me then, and it still does!
Finally in 2022, I left corporate and went all in on BHP — I haven't looked back once.
The photos that come out of that are the ones you'll still be sitting with twenty years from now. Not because everything looked perfect, but because everything felt true. That's what I'm always chasing: the frame that makes you catch your breath because it looks exactly like how that day felt.
